Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo
BPPV is one of the most common causes of Vertigo, the sudden sensation that you are spinning or that side of your head is spinning.
This condition is triggered by specific changes in the position of the head by looking up or down. Although this is a bothersome problem, it is rarely serious except during falls.

Symptoms include: Dizziness, Nausea, Vomiting and loss of balance.
Causes of this condition was due to issues related to inner ear, it was often associated with contact sports which have a direct impact to head or may be due to work related issues and migrane.
The role of inner ear called vestibular labryrinth has semicircular structures, these structures contain fluid and hair like structures that monitor position of head, but these structures become sensitive when crystal like structures called Otoconia enter the wrong canal during sleep. It was due to this the positioning ability was altered and we experience symptoms of dizziness.
Brandt-daroff habituation exercises were used to treat people with these symptoms; they were easy and can be done at home. These exercises must be done in sets of 5 with 4 positions with 30 seconds hold in each position; then followed by gaze stabilization exercises with 10 repetitions on each side.
