UIL REGION 24 MARCHING BAND COMPETITION... AND THE COLONY BAND GOT A 1!!!
Wow, they were great this afternoon. I only uploaded a wide shot as I found that most band members just want this so they can study it.
The best thing in The Colony is the band programs in all the schools.. and the best is The Colony High School. My daughter plays alto saxophone in it (Lindsay Grant) and has worked really hard since the 5th grade with private lessons. She wants to go to UNT and study music.

I'm totally impressed by all of Lindsay's band directors and teachers and classmates. She could not have better teachers and this is just a middle class neighborhood. The LISD is incredible.

Here are the great band teachers that make this possible: Mr. Luis Saldaña, Mr. Jeff Bridges, Jason Brents, Mr. Michael Huestis and Mr. Brandt Wright. When Lindsay was at Griffin Middle School she had Mrs. Leigh Ann McClain and Mr. David Eakle. Her alto saxophone tutor from UNT is Mr. Sean Murphy who has been teaching her private lessons 4 years. She's studied piano for 8 years from the incredible British pianist, Mrs. Sandra Bishop and guitar from Mr. Fritz Shultz, the premiere guitar teacher in the Dallas area.
